Tire Reinforcement
Aircraft
WEIGHT REDUCTION
Each kg weight saving on aircraft contributes considerably to the yearly fuel savings. Therefore lower weight tires are an important buying criteria for airliners.
MORE LANDINGS PER TIRE
Aircraft tires are exposed to extreme loadings and heat during each landing therefore they contribute significantly to the operating costs. In addition to that increased tire durability eliminates many risks that may end up with fatal accidents.
FOD PROTECTION
On 25th July 2000 all 100 passengers and nine crew members on board of Concorde type aircraft died during the take-off of a scheduled flight from Paris, France to New York City. This accident took the attentions back on importance of tire protection, although there had been severe tire incidents during Concorde landings without fatalities. Since then aircraft tire producers contributed to flight safety by preventing tire growth and improving cut/penetration resistance.
