Ali Çalışkan appointed as Kordsa's CEO
Cenk Alper, the former CEO of Sabancı Holding affiliate Kordsa since 2013, has been appointed as Sabancı Holding Industry Group President as of the 1st of April.
Ali Çalışkan serving as the Chief Operating Officer of Europe, Middle East and Africa of Kordsa since July 2015, has been appointed as the new CEO.
After being appointed as the Sabancı Holding Industry Group President as of March 8, 2017, Cenk Alper, the former CEO of Kordsa since June 2013, passed the torch to Ali Çalışkan who has been appointed as the new CEO of Kordsa after serving 31 years at Kordsa. Mr. Calışkan was the Chief Operating Officer of Europe, Middle East and Africa since July 2015.
Having graduated from Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Middle East Technical University in 1983, Çalışkan started his professional career in Soyut Holding as Project Engineer in 1984. He joined Kordsa in 1986 as Technical Office Engineer, and from then on he had taken part in significant projects within Kordsa during his career journey at Kordsa at various positions. During his positions as Operations Director of Indo Kordsa, Kordsa’s subsidiary in Indonesia, between 2010 and 2013, and as Vice President in charge of operations between 2013 and 2015, he played an important role in developing Kordsa’s capacity and enhancing market volume in Asia Pacific region, which is strategically significant and has a growing tire industry. In July 2015, he was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and took important role in R&D leadership and growing the market share of Turkey, the production and R&D hub of all Kordsa facilities around the World.
