Advantages in Tire
In recent years, hybrid cords have found
different application areas in tires. The most
commonly used hybrid cords are the different
combinations of Aramid and Nylon 6.6 due to
their own distinctive advantages such as:

  • Reduced tire weight
  • Reduced number of plies
  • Reduced rolling resistance
  • Reduced noise
  • Reduced contained air temperature
  • Improved durability and safety
  • Improved tread wear
  • Improved load carrying capacity in heavy duty tires
  • Based on tire segment requirements, hybrids can also reduce flat spotting compared to only Nylon usage or can offer better fatigue property compared to only Aramid usage. Penetration of hybrid cords has originally started with their usage at high end segment tires. Nowadays a wider usage of these superior cords can be observed in the tire industry for various types of tire segments ranging from heavy duty tires to standard passenger tires.
    Other combinations of hybrid cords offer different advantages according to specific tire requirements.
